It all started on Wednesday night. Brayden had a fever and was really hard to comfort. I figured he must have a ear infection and called Thursday morning to get him in to see the doctor. She diagnosed him with a ear infection and croup. When we got home from the doctors he slept all day and all night until about midnight where he would only go back to sleep if he was able to sleep with us. That whole night he whimpered and had very labored breathing. The next morning all he did was sleep and was still having a hard time breathing that I felt like he needed to go back into the doctors. She hooked him up to a machine that monitored how much oxygen he was taking in and saw it was low. They gave him a breathing treatment and checked him for RSV. He was positive for RSV and we were sent to St. Luke's to spend the night. They put him on oxygen and deep suctioned his nose out. That part was really hard to watch. He scream and gaged. It was so sad. They were worried about him being dehydrated so he needed to get a IV later that night which was something I couldn't watch so Nathan stayed in the room with him. He slept most of the time unless he was getting poked and prodded. He's such a trooper! Towards the end of our stay he was starting to eat again and play with some toys they brought in for him. He was there for three long days. I'm so thankful for the wonderful staff at St. Luke's Pediatric. They were so good to us and took great care of my little guy. I'm so happy to have our busy body little boy home!
